S P L I T

Last week, my sister and i finally watched a "Night Shyamalan" movie "SPLIT". It's a combination of psychological thriller and horror film, starring James McAvoy and Anya Taylor-Joy.

Okay, so the movie's telling us about this man's life, he have 23 different personalities. His name was Kevin, Patricia, Hedwig, Barry and that's all the names that i can remember. Okay so, he randomly kidnapped these three teenage girls including Anya who is playing as Casey. They were locked in these basement of a maintenance building or cellar, full of rooms and hallways.

As they wake up because of being pepper sprayed, Marcia and Claire wanted to get out as fast as possible and had a thought like any other people would do, which is attack Barry and run to get out. Meanwhile, Casey was a patient person, and she wanted to wait for a better chance. Claire would never stop trying to get out, she looked up at the ceiling and found a drywall, she crawled to it and try to escape, while Marcia and Casey barricade the door. Dennis, emerges and as he saw that Claire is no longer in that room, he rush and caught her successfully and locked her in a separate cell.

On the next day, he was being Patricia, urged Casey and Marcia to have breakfast on the breakfast table in another room. While Patricia was cutting the sandwich, Marcia hits him from the back by a wooden chair and she ran to escape, but the same thing happened just like Claire. She's now locked in a separate cell. Not for long, the 24th personalities reveals known as "The Beast" it was so scary because he has manifesting superhuman speed, strength, and agility. He was tall, strong, can crawl on the walls.

The 24th identity
The three girls are still trying to escape, even Casey, she successfully got out from her cell because she found where Kevin hid the key. When she was about to save Marcia and Claire, it was too late because "The Beast" killed them by eating their body parts. "The Beast" prepared to devour Casey, she gets Kevin's gun, and runs down to the end of the bunker.

She shoots him twice but the bullets merely cut his skin. For a few seconds he notices the scars that covers her arms and shoulders which made him pulls back and decided not to kill Casey. He sees his own trauma mirrored in her and runs off, leaving her slumped.

Okay the ending got me so confused because the next morning, Casey was found by a zoo employee and leads her outside, where she's put in safekeeping while the cops go looking for "The Beast". Done. It's so confusing, the movie thrills me that i was so trembled especially the part when "The Beast" gobbled up Marcia and Claire, but still, i was so interested in it. Usually, people who have this mental illness is because they are living in a lonely childhood. I searched some of the true cases about this. 'Watseka Wonders' is a name case given to the strange case of a young girl, Lurancy Venum, she has a hysterical impersonation, her body being possessed by the spirit of Mary Roff. She became a person who believes that she is inhabited by another spirit, usually a dead person. When she wake up from her sleep, she would tell her family that she had seen her dead siblings, angels because she went to heaven. I mean, how scary is that! yet so interesting.

Impressions On Colour

I've been joining this art class in a compound located in Kelapa Gading since i was in the 8th grade. My art class teacher, Liza Maylina, is not just some teacher, she's a mom, a sister, someone i can talk to, give me comfort, make me laugh and a friend to gossip with. It's been so long since she's working on this exhibition called "Impressions on Colours" and a book lauching with a title called "Super Hero Me". The short story taught us that not all heroes wears capes *lol. Okay, it taught us that anyone can be a hero, even the younger one. This exhibition is also a collaboration between paintings, music, and dance. ART! Me? I'm parts of "Impressions on Colours" where i paint some paintings which themed Indigo (where blue and purple combined). I was chose to paint with that theme. Why do i choose to paint Frida Kahlo in the biggest canvas? Because i'm inspired by her, a painter who paints her own self-potraits as she recovered from injuries caused by a near-fatal bus accident. She's identified by her bold eyebrows and her preference of traditional indigenous Mexican peasant clothing.

It take months!
I'd like to thank to my family for the support. They spent the money for buying my art equipments, the paint, the brushes, they gave me courage, spirits and kept on pushing me to do my best, to increase my ability in art and i am grateful for that.

La La Land

I was humming "City of Stars" all night long right after i watched it. Still not over it, nope. I mean, can anything get better than a Ryan Gosling playing jazz? It's hot for me. Really. The movie made my heart sing, such a romantic musical epic and i was so captivated to it. I couldn't stop. The first thing i did when i arrived home was listening to all of the soundtracks in Spotify. I'm just gonna make it short okay? Mia, an aspiring actress and Sebastian, a dedicated jazz musician kept on running to each other while pursuing their dreams and fell in love but got separated at the end. There's a scene in the ending where they smile at each other at "Seb's" when Mia was already married with George, and their smile shows the feeling of happiness towards each other because both of their dreams had finally come true, they got to do the things that they're passionate about. Mia being a famous actress and Sebastian successfully open his own jazz club. The ending did pissed me off because of the fact that they're not together anymore, but there's a meaning behind it; "Letting go also means that sometimes, no matter how much you thought you've put efforts into it, certain things are just not meant to be".

"'I'm always gonna love you"
"I'm always gonna love you too"
"What are we gonna do now?"
"I guess we'll just have to wait and see"

Winter in Japan

The 6th-15th February taught me that it's very tiring being a tourist, but enjoyable at the same time. My family and i went to Osaka. The weather was so cold because it's winter there. But i could get use to it. Snow made my face white and less-acne. Hired an airbnb apartment in Tennoji, where the neighborhood was so beautiful and the buildings. *sigh* you know how it is, i could do a photoshoot in every corner because it was so aesthetic. Mom and her sister couldn't handle the cold. It can be 3 degrees in the morning even though the sun's really sunny. Here's a shot on Day 1.

Day 2: Went to Fushimi Inari,Kyoto, a-must place to visit, especially for tourist. It's the head shrine of Inari. The building was so spectacular and the view was so breathtaking. It was difficult to take pictures because it was raining, -2 degrees as i remembered, and my hands got so cold it was swollen red. But a big thanks to my sis who took some shots.

i was expecting a shot where i was alone but it was so crowded and raining,
there's people lining up for taking pictures. but this is ok

The struggle taking this shot because our hands were freezing.
Day 3: Universal Studio Japan! Regret bc should've wake up earlier so we could've arrived earlier before it got a little crowded. At this moment, i just want the time to freeze for a moment so i can ride all of the ride. The first ride i rode was this back-ward roller coaster. I felt so alive and it was so worth it yet scary and my whole body was shaking. I felt like the happiest after i went on it. No regrets. And, of course, we wouldn't miss the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It was so real! The buildings, Hogwarts. There was so many people buying the scarfs, coats and magic wands. It was really enchanting and unreal.

Everyone thought i was wearing a cotton candy lookin
silly, but truth is, it's a huge snoopy hat, it keeps my head
warm
It looked so real and i would study here if it does exist.
Day 4: Shinkansen is the fastest, yet it took long to go to Tokyo from Osaka. It was pretty rookery to go through all the struggles in the train-station because the train officers don't understand english as much as we don't understand their language. It took more than 3 hours, hard to sleep in the train because i didn't want to miss the view. Thinking, how i want the time go slower because i want this to last long, i can't get enough. It was so tiring to search the airbnb apartment because all of the streets looks the same, we felt lost and starving at the same time. We arrived at the apartment at about 6 and felt very unproductive because it was a rough, and tiring day, so spent the night on the social medias and also took a look at the shots from the camera on the day before. Mum suggested us to sleep early because tomorrow we are going to Gala! It's gonna be my first snow which is really exciting!

Day 5: Took hours to go to Gala Yuzawa, where snows exist, there's this moment in the train, before we went to the tunnel, the view was so beautiful, it filled with woods, paddy filled and the village. Then when the train went through the tunnel, the window filled with snow, everything filled with snow. It was like magic and i felt like in Narnia. #kedengerannorak #maklumin

Spent the evening, approaching the night strolling and enjoying the streets with a little bit of shopping. The street night lights was so beautiful, and filled with people walking fast, some go to the train station, some go to cafes and restaurant on the sidewalk, and of course, some shop. including me.

Look how pretty it is
My eyes looks like a hunter, but i swear this was a candid

Day 6: Probably the most unforgettable, because we went to the most happiest place on Earth, where dreams come true. Where everything felt like fantasy and where the love, magic and happiness spreads all over the place!

In front of the Tokyo Disney Resort.
It was magical, Disney brought me to my childhood memories where i don't
have to worry about anything and knowing that everything is going to be
alright. How i hate being old.
Golden Hour shot by my talented sis

Day 7: Edo Wonderland Nikko Edomura; Japanese Cultural theme park! It's an outdoor place, surrounded by the woods on the other side, and the park has seven theatres featuring traditionally themed shows including plays, ninja action and oiran shows combined with street performances and parades. It wasn't crowded, which is a good thing to take pictures.

It snowed! -2 degrees

Day 8: Enjoying the city streets in Harajuku, and also went through all the struggles carrying lots of huge plastic bags full of souvenirs for my friends and family. The bag was so heavy that my hands got swollen and my legs got weary for a long walk on the sidewalk and getting to the train station.

Not just in the train or in the sidewalks where Japanese peeps would study and
read books, but also in the coffee shops. Bc we, Indonesian, mostly
gossips about stuff instead of being like them.

Day 9: Home. Can't believe i'm gonna go home today. I'm gonna miss everything. The cold, the snow, the airbnb apartment because it was so tiny yet comfortable, like the places in those korean dramas. I'm gonna miss Ongiri filled with tuna which i always eat like 2-3 times a day everytime we had a short stop in FamilyMart. I'm gonna miss the vending machine in every corner on the street. I'm gonna miss the people because they know manners really well, and seem very responsible. I'm gonna miss the street where i never even see a single trash on it, because they clean it every single damn day. I'm gonna miss everything and this whole 9 days felt like minutes. Went to the airport and bought another bags of souvenirs. Bought some tokyo banana, kit-kat and green teas. Until next time, Japan.
