Moments I'd like to Cherish

I believe that everyone got more than one family. For me, it's where you look for when your mind's a mess, when life problems hit you, when you're feeling lost or at your worst and have no friends to turn to.

Ci Icha is the most loving teacher I've ever met in my life, in fact she was more than just a teacher for me and if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be able to increase my art until now. New friends came into my life and as time goes by, it felt as if we're one big family. Saturday would be the day where we usually spend time altogether, sharing stories, listening to jokes that sometimes doesn't even make any sense, taking pictures, making memories.

Celebrating my 18th birthday with them is something that I'd like to cherish. It was on Monday, 26th of November and we get to celebrate it on Saturday, the 1st of December. It was perfect, they put Christmas decorations along the table and it was full of the Padangnese food which my mother brought for us to celebrate. They love it so much, some even add for the 3rd and for 4th time.
It felt like an early Christmas dinner, I felt like as if we're in those scenes from a family movie with happy ending. The room was full of joy, love and laughter and I couldn't stop smiling because I feel so grateful to have them as an important part of my life and knowing that I can always rely on them.

Ohana.

All Said and Done.

I have never write this before. But it’s been quite a while since he crossed my mind.
I wanna ask how you’ve been doing, did you meet any new friends at college, what do you expect and how do you picture your whole life after highschool ends but what was it instead. How’s your new lover, what does she doesn’t have that i do.
I keep telling myself that we won’t happen again, as much as I want us to be the way we were, I always doubt it. No reasons. I just do.
I miss my friend, the reason I wait on our bench next to the school plants and trees where we talk about people passing by. But the bench is not the only thing that made me thought of you.
I thought about you when I search Jazz musicians in the 40 or 60s for making my study playlist because I know you know some. I thought about you when I caught some cool guys in their 20s wearing their old-fashioned outfit because I know you’re a fan of it. I thought of you when I sat in the car and  stare dramatically at the city lights of Jakarta slowly fades away while I’m on my way home.
I thought of you when I breathe and a soft wind pass me by as I look up at the sky, looking less blue. I thought about you when I look at old movie posters because you love movies back then when it’s grain and dramatic, way more than how it is now. I thought of you at the most unexpected times and I still don't know why.
Heard from some of your friends that you want to catch up on unsaid feelings, but i'd rather keep this safe distance between us.

Life In Austria

Austria is known as the city of  "Sound Of Music" , it's the mother out of all the musical movies I've watched, if it weren't for my mother I wouldn't know all about it. Austria is also the place where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born, the house he lived still stays in its place and turned to be a museum.

Day 1; Halsttaat
We strolled around the town surrounded by the lake with a view of the mountains, the buildings and cafes was built in arrangement and painted in pale colors which made it seem like I'm walking through some kind of doll houses. Although our visit were brief, I was left with a lifelong impression.

We were living in the moment.
It was our last day with the group tour, went back to our hotel in the Munich to say goodbye to all of them the next day. They left in the morning while we're about to go to Salzburg, we planned to stay there for 3 days and two nights in an airbnb which is very exciting.

Day 2; Salzburg
Discovering Mozart's homecountry felt unreal as my eyes kept imagining how it was back then, did he walked across this hall? did he sat on that bench? for how long did he stay in this house? It was a bit crowded since it's Sunday but that didn't stop us from entering the Mozart Cafe and went to the Mirabell Palace. It says that the Mirabell Palace is the place where The Sound Of Music shot a lot of scenes for "Do Re Mi".
"Far, a long long way to run"

Arrived in our airbnb apartment, and it looks so comfortable that it had a balcony with a view of a mountain, my sister and I made ourselves a cup of tea and we spent the afternoon chilling at the balcony.

The supper we had.

Day 3: Sound Of Music Tour
Walked to the town like we did yesterday, our tour started at 1pm until 5pm so my mother and her friend went shopping while my sister and I visited the Mozart Cafe and the "The Sound Of Music World" to buy some souvenirs, especially postcards. Had indian food for lunch, then walked back to the front of Mirabell Palace to wait for our bus tour.

Walked across the Bridge of Salzach River.

Fun Fact: This movie is not just changing the
world, it also gave us "Edelweiss", "Do Re Mi"
and "My Favourite Things" which still passed
from generation to generation.
"The Sound of Music" tour finally started! Our tour leader was so lovely, she wore this traditional feminime dress called the Dirdnl. During our way to the locations where the movie was shot, she explained everything in details, like which scenes was shot in that exact place, how did the Austrians react to the movie in 1965 and what happened with the real Von Trapp family. We also get to sing along as they played all of the songs from the movie on the bus speaker. It's just hard to believe that I get to experience this tour because I never imagine that I would in this age. There are days where I watched it over and over again that I kept on dreaming when will I ever see the movie locations because of how beautiful it is to follow Maria's footstep (at least once in my life) and it's happening.

Most of you guys may not notice (even I don't), but
the front and the back of the house turned out to
be 2 different house from a different location.

Basilica Saint Michael; this is where Maria
and Captain Von Trapp got married.

Back to our petit train and rode pass the road where Maria sing "I have Confidence" as she was on her way to the Von Trapp house, then back to the Mirabell Palace which was the last place as the tour ended.
My mother and sister.
It was such an adventure that I've been longing for out of all the places we've been in Europe. I felt like I just traveled through history in Austria. I yearn to experience in this culturally rich, beautiful land. We went back to our airbnb and I biked around the neighbourhood for a few minutes since it's our last night. We packed through the night and went back to Munich. Left the DaVinci hotel in the morning to Munich Airport. Just like how it started, transit to Bangkok for about 11 hours, waited in the airport for 3 hours then 4 hours to Jakarta where reality calls. Thank you West Europe for treating me so well, for your buildings that ammuse me, breathtaking countryside, for remembering the great artists in the history and presenting the museum dedicated for them, for the long sunsets and blue skies.

Vaduz, Liechweinstein

Spent the morning in a little town called Vaduz, so little that the amount of population was pretty low and there were more tourist than the natives. Went to the centre of the town and there weren't so many shops except for the souvenirs and cafes so my sister and I made a pit stop for some lattes in an attractive Italian Cafe called Brasserie Burg.

After that, we went to see the Neuchwanstein Castle. It says that the castle was opened to public seven weeks after King Ludwig II (King of Bavaria) died in 1886. It is also known as "the castle of the fairy-tale king". Our group tour only get a chance to take a picture of it from afar on a bridge, we could've walk to the castle to get a closer look but it suddenly rained.

It's like as if we're entering a fairy tale life

Sweet, Sweet Switzerland

Going to that mountain over there, from the picture above! The sceneries was so beautiful that it kept me wondering how would it feel like to live here in this peaceful country, imagining that I could feel the fresh breeze, listen to the calm sound of the river and looking at the mountain as I'm waking up to this. Just for once at least, I want to live in this country life. Honestly it's nice to be in a place where there's no signal, you get to observe the beauty that surrounds you.

It took 30 minutes by cable car and 15 minutes by the circle ones, boy do we felt as if we're in one of the fight scenes in Kingsman II inside a spinning cable car! As we arrived at the mountain, it was pretty crowded and it bothered me so I convinced my sister to hike to the top and we were so proud of ourselves that we actually made it even though it got harder to breathe, no regrets because "Life's A Climb" and the view was worth it.

On our way up.

The top of Mount Titlis! As if it's us against
the world!
On our way down.
After all the hike and the snow, we headed down to Luzern, it is one mesmerizing city because its surrounded by the view of the lake with a little peek of Mount Pilatus below. There are sunny old squares, intriguin churches and wooden bridge. I've read that this city is packed with history because of its location between Protestant Northern Europe and Catholic Italy.

A Day in Frankfurt

As usual, took a group tour pictures everytime we're in the centre of the town before we all split up.  Frankfurt aim main, the place for us to go sightseeing and killing our time today. My sister and I strolled around the town and there were so many rich collections of museums, historic buildings and lively art. It wasn't that crowded but there were a lot of people chilling, the frankfurters were drinking beers, wine and rum on the sidewalk cafes since it was the perfect place for a weekend break.

There was this one moment where I looked up to see how interesting the building was, especially their colors. Then this really tall tower of a gothic church caught my eye from afar and I forced my sister to give me the company so that I can look closely and take a little peek inside (just so you know I have this strong obsession with romanesque architecture). The name of the cathedral is Saint Bartholomew.

You can tell a lot from the looks of it, that the cathedral had an associated role as the religious counterpart in the history of Frankfurt.
